I’m a third culture kid born in Taiwan and raised in Calgary. My knack for creative problem-solving led me to study Industrial Design in Toronto where I developed a passion for human-centered design.
I am a multidisciplinary designer. I consider empathy to be my most fluent language and most fundamental value.
I am a lateral thinker adept at drawing from conceptual frameworks and abstract ideas and bending them to fit evolving problems. My diverse skillset allows me to bring experience from a broad range of domains and apply them to what I'm focused on today.
I excel in environments that enable me to utilize my adaptability and in work that requires creative solutions.
When I have time for myself, I enjoy playing tennis, golf, and conducting science experiments in the kitchen.

Product Designer - Short-Term Contract

Established the design and digital foundation for a startup electrical infrastructure products firm, including a redesigned logo suite, visual identity, responsive website, and brand system.
Provided packaging design that adhered with newly established visual identity.
Created photography assets for digital and print.
Hardware design and competitive analysis to establish market differentiation for a public facing product in a regulation and engineering code heavy environment.

Partnered with a leading global solid surfaces manufacturer with 2024 revenues of approximately $3 billion USD, to deliver a targeted design and strategy engagement.
Conducted a competitive landscape analysis benchmarking against market leaders and identifying product portfolio gaps.
Developed and presented original surface design concepts, drawing from trend forecasting, cultural insights, and biophilic design principles.
Delivered a polished, executive-level strategic package that helped position the client for stronger market differentiation.
Hyundai L&C Canada, Hanstone
Industrial Designer
2023 - 2024
Served as the sole designer in Canada across two development cycles, collaborating closely with the US-based Creative Director and cross-functional teams to execute product strategy from concept through production.
Independently managed the design process, including research, concept development, prototyping, testing, CMF, and final implementation within an active manufacturing environment.
Collaborated with development and process engineers to translate design intent into production-ready products, applying DFM principles while balancing aesthetics, functionality, cost, and manufacturing constraints.
Directed a small lab team for design development and prototyping, establishing testing parameters, material formulations, chemical compositions, and sample schedules to deliver required samples against development milestones and leadership expectations.
Developed a new manufacturing process capability by adapting pigment dispensing and material-control techniques, enabling previously unachievable tone-on-tone color blocking inspired by natural stone formations.
Worked closely with production teams through the transition from prototype to mass production, resolving manufacturing challenges while maintaining product integrity and design intent.

Design Competition Winning Bike Rack
2020
Designed a competition-winning public bike rack in collaboration with city engineers and the BIA, recognized for its manufacturability, market readiness, and user-centred approach, with the final design fabricated and still installed at multiple locations along Toronto’s Bloor Street.
